Darlingtonia

Monotypic genus — a single species, Darlingtonia californica, endemic to a narrow strip of cold serpentine seeps fed by snowmelt along the Klamath–Siskiyou Mountains of Oregon and California. The unique forked hood and translucent areolae create a disorientating false-window trap convergent with Sarracenia minor. Requires cold, oxygenated, flowing water — will rapidly decline in warm stagnant conditions.
